Deck Builder in Papillion, NE
Deck Bros have built decks in Papillion since 2020 and warranted our labor for five years on every one of them. The shop is on South 96th Street in Omaha, which keeps our crews in Sarpy County most weeks of the year.
What we build here:

Composite, PVC, cedar, and treated lumber are all on the table. We’re a TimberTech Platinum Contractor, we’re licensed, bonded, and insured, and we pull the permits and meet the inspector ourselves.
Quotes are free and come with a real walkthrough. Send us your project and we’ll measure it in person.
Featured Papillion Project: Complete Deck Renovation
A Papillion homeowner already had a deck. He wanted the upgrades that usually get cut from a budget: dry, usable space underneath, railings that did more than hold people in, and a surface that wouldn’t need a weekend of sanding every other spring.
We rebuilt it from the framing up.
- Size: 750 square feet
- Framing: Grade-1 treated lumber with a 4x4 corner post
- Decking: Trailhead Composite from Deckorators
- Railing: Westbury aluminum with built-in lighting
- Drainage: Full Trex RainEscape system run between the joists
- Quoted at: $72,500, with the lit railing the largest line item at $22,500

The RainEscape system is what turned the ground level into space the family can use when it rains. See the full project in our portfolio. That build sat at the high end of what we do, and our Papillion deck building cost page walks through what actually moves the number.
Deck Building in Papillion
Papillion grew fast, and a lot of that growth came with walkout basements cut into sloped lots. Shadow Lake, Settlers Creek, and the newer builds off 84th Street all have homes where the back door sits eight or ten feet above the yard.
That’s a structural job before it’s a design job:
- Footings poured below the frost line so the frame doesn't heave
- Posts and beams sized for the actual lift and span
- A stair run planned to land where you use the yard
- Under-deck drainage when the lower level is worth keeping dry
If your subdivision has an HOA with architectural review, tell us early. We’ve put together the drawings those boards ask for often enough that it rarely slows a project down.

Deck Installation in Papillion
| Material | What it's good for | Upkeep |
|---|---|---|
| TimberTech | Colorfast boards and the longest material coverage we can offer as a Platinum contractor | Wash it down |
| Trex | The widest color range, easy to match an existing deck | Wash it down |
| AZEK PVC | Fully synthetic and the lightest boards, with nothing organic to absorb water | Wash it down |
| Cedar | Real wood grain and a softer feel underfoot | Seal on a cycle |
| Pressure-treated | The most affordable way to get a solid, code-built deck | Stain on a cycle |
Weighing the two big composite brands? Our TimberTech vs Trex comparison lays out cost, warranty, and how each handles heat.
Most builds go up in about three days once materials land, and we haul our debris out before we leave.

Deck Repair in Papillion
The decks we repair most often here went up in the 1990s and early 2000s. At that age, a fresh coat of stain is cosmetics over a structural problem.
Signs the problem is structural:
- Bounce or sway when you walk across it
- Dark streaks or soft wood where the deck meets the house
- Rusted, bent, or missing joist hangers underneath
- Post bases that have shifted where they meet concrete
- Railings that move when you lean on them
Ledger flashing is where the expensive problems start, because water gets behind the board and into the rim joist of the house itself.
Sometimes the framing is sound and the deck needs new boards and railings. Sometimes it’s a rebuild. We’ll tell you which, and our guide to deck repair and replacement costs shows the spread before you commit.
Our deck repair page walks through the common failures.
Deck Design in Papillion
Drawing comes before framing. You see the footprint, the stair placement, and the railing style on your own house before anyone orders material.
A west-facing deck in Papillion is a different room at four o’clock in July than it is at seven. Stair placement decides whether the yard feels connected to the deck. Both are free to change on a drawing and expensive to change once the posts are set.
See how we work through it on our deck design page.

Covered Decks in Papillion
A roof buys back the parts of the Nebraska calendar a bare deck gives away: spring storms, hail, and the stretch of August when the boards are too hot to stand on.
On an elevated deck, a cover pairs with an under-deck drainage system like the RainEscape setup above. You end up with two usable levels, and the lower one stays dry.
We frame covers as part of the deck structure and match them to the roofline of the house.

Screened-In Porches in Papillion
Papillion is named for its creek. Anywhere near the Papio, Walnut Creek, or the low ground around Halleck Park, summer evenings come with company.
A screened porch is a heavier build than a deck: a proper roof, posts sized for it, and screen framing that won’t sag by the third season. Some homeowners screen an existing covered deck. Others build from scratch.
Look through our screened-in porches page to see how they come together.

What Our Customers Say
The best sign a deck was built right is that the people who own it keep telling their neighbors about it, which is most of how we’ve grown in Sarpy County.

Our deck was the original deck built on the house and 20+ years old and in bad shape, along with some original hardscaping below the deck.
I did some online research and seen a lot of great things about Deck Bros.
We called Luan for a quote and we were very pleased with his honesty, knowledge, and down to earth attitude.
We received the detailed quote the day he visited and liked the price and services offered.
We were quoted a start date at the end of March.
As I type this, the entire project has been completed, a full week ahead of schedule.
The team had great communication, was very friendly and did a great job.
We will absolutely recommend Deck Bros to anyone and will continue to utilize them for years to come.

What an absolute blessing Deck Bros’ company is! Truly wish we would’ve done this sooner, as 3 years have passed since we learned that we inherited rotting decks with the purchase of our home. Me and pups did not go out on the decks at all in 2023 because I was so concerned over safety. It’s their favorite thing to do…
From professionalism and friendliness, sincerity, being meticulous, pride in workmanship, very hard working & putting in long hours as well as cleaning up each day; and creating a beautiful and structurally sound deck for us, all in a very short amount of time too!
We’ve had 3 neighbors so far ask us for their info because they are so impressed too with how it turned out.
Each day, several times a day since completion, I look out and am blown away at the beauty; and that just like THAT, poof! 💨 Rotting decks gone, and replaced with a stunning deck scape now.
I grew very fond of all of them, it was such a pleasure to look forward to seeing them each day. It’s quite lonely around here since completion. 🥲
They are like having an extension of family here in Omaha now. 🦋

I needed my deck to be rebuilt and contacted four different companies for estimates.
Mike, from Deck Bros, was, by far, the most responsive. He came out to my house, took pictures, consulted with me, and provided a complete breakdown of all costs within days.
Working with Susan, Deck Bros was able to accommodate my calendar and was able to schedule the work two weeks earlier than originally planned.
Blake and his crew showed up on-time and were highly organized and respectful.
They completed the work over the course of a few days.
I was impressed with the level of communication from Deck Bros during all aspects of my project. I am completely satisfied with the work and look forward to enjoying my new deck.
I would highly recommend Deck Bros! Thank you, Deck Bros, for a great experience!
